POSITION: Residence Aide DEPARTMENT: Residential Services DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Residence Manager DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Residence Aide will provide training and supervision to residents in ADL skills and will directly participate in daily household management. The specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 1. Provide training and assistance to individuals in order to help them develop and/or improve independent living skills such as cooking, housekeeping, laundry skills, grocery shopping, etc. 2. Provide assistance and training to individuals to assist them in developing and/or improving personal care skills; i.e. showering, toothbrushing, toileting, bathing, etc. 3. Provide supervision to individuals at the residence and in the community as appropriate. 4. Providing training in money management such as budgeting, banking and making appropriate 5. Administering resident medications and logging according to procedure. 6. Accompanying residents to grocery stores and other stores for on-site training in purchasing. 7. Providing training in mobility and community orientation. 8. Acting as role model to residents in teaching household and community skills. 9. Attending case conferences, screenings, discharge conferences and meetings as requested.10. Performing/participating in assessment and service plan development and implementation. 11. Following all policies and procedures. 12. Maintaining a positive relationship with parents, participants and other staff. 13. Transporting residents and supervising on appointments, recreational and/or other activities as needed. This includes but is not limited to following all policies and procedures specific to recreational/community activities. 14. Keeping supervisor informed of any residents’ health and safety issues. 15. Assisting residents with or, if necessary, completing daily or routine domestic tasks. 16. Maintaining the residence by cleaning as instructed by the supervisor any part of the house and/or its contents including any or all of the following: 17. Assisting with filing, record keeping and maintaining an orderly office. 18. Attending all required training and staff development programs to increase and develop necessary work skills which includes successfully completing and maintaining certification in First Aid, CPR and SCIP. 19. Adhere to Part 633 and Part 624 Regulations related to Consumer Rights, Abuse and Reporting. 20. Adhere to Incident and Accident reporting per policies and procedures. 21. Advocating for the rights of the developmentally disabled. 22. Attending scheduled house meetings. 23. Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
